- Stop using your webcam.
- Join by phone audio as well as computer video. To solve the audio issues this creates:
a. mute your computer microphone (“mute” in the zoom screen)
b. mute your computer speaker (the speaker icon at the bottom right of a PC, top right of a Mac.) - Close any other unneeded applications. If available, use a separate device (tablet/PC/phone) for essential applications.
- If you know how to do so, check if cloud file synchronization (e.g. Carbonite, CrashPlan) or cloud backups (e.g. OneDrive, Dropbox) are currently running.
- If possible, move to another room closer to the router.
More generally, if they can connect by ethernet, that is the single best improvement other than getting a high speed line. See the following link for more general tips.
